Situated at an elevation of approximately 1,500 meters above sea level, the meadow is surrounded by towering peaks, making it a popular destination for hikers, nature lovers, and mountaineers.

Hala Gąsienicowa serves as a base for numerous hiking trails and climbing routes, including paths leading to the summit of Świnica and Kasprowy Wierch. The meadow is also home to the Murowaniec mountain hut, which provides food and accommodation to visitors, offering a convenient place to rest and refuel.
