About this spot
The Golden Gate Bridge, an internationally recognized symbol of San Francisco, California, is a marvel of modern engineering. Spanning 1.7 miles across the entrance to the San Francisco Bay from the Pacific Ocean, the bridge took four years to build and was completed in 1937. Its Art Deco design, distinct "International Orange" color, and dramatic location amidst often fog-enveloped hills have made it one of the most photographed structures in the world.
