About this spot
Yosemite is known for its large waterfalls. Fern Springs is the smallest named waterfall in the park, but is particularly photogenic as it cascades over a series of mossy covered rock shelves. It is a two-tiered cascade emanating from a natural spring dropping approximately eighteen inches! Broad-leafed maples and dogwood trees surround the springs.
