About this spot
This approximately 2-mile long trail provides good views of the Big Quilcene River and the Olympic forest. The trail starts in the closed Falls View Campground, dropping rapidly through a number of switchbacks to the main viewpoint along the river. The trail from that point follows the river and ends in a loop. While following the river, there are only several spots past the main viewpoint where the river is visible, the best being in the loop section.

There is also a short trail from the trailhead to the a view of a waterfall on a side stream falling into the Big Quilcene River. The view is not particularly good, being at an angle and with trees partially obstructing the view. A somewhat better view can be reached by following an unofficial trail off of the trail down to the river. However, be careful on the steep slope.
