The Empirej Castle was built about twenty years ago, and with its architecture bears no resemblance to the historical castles of Zagorje.
Located in the area of Krapinske Toplice, on a hill above the village of Jurjevec, this fairytale castle with its vista reminds one of Neuschwanstein which also served as inspiration for the famous castle in Disneyland.
There is an interesting story behind this whole project. The owner Mijo Habulinec got the idea when he gifted his daughters Lego blocks, and they built their perfect castle with them. This model later served as inspiration for the construction of this fairytale wedding venue.
