About this spot
To the west of Bogotá is El Tablazo, a beautiful hill surrounded by mountain forests. It's perfect for views of the Magdalena River Valley and the central Colombian mountain range. The hill is located between the municipalities of Subachoque and San Francisco and its maximum height is 3,500 meters above sea level. You can see fields of fraylejones, pajonales, lagoons and rural roads. It is a natural barrier that stops the humidity coming from warm lands, which is why it remains most of the time with a dense fog that gives a magical and mysterious character to the place.
