About this spot
Dettifoss is a large, powerful waterfall in northern Iceland. At 100m wide and with a 44m drop, it's rumoured to be the second most powerful in Europe. The sediment turns the water a milky grey, and visitors may recognise it from the opening to the movie "Prometheus".
