About This Spot

The biggest mistake everyone makes is getting stuck on the nearest trees when first walking into Deadvlei. The most photographed ones are all the furthest ones, so rather start there and work your way back. Use a 70-200mm and unless there are spectacular clouds, don’t include any sky. Composing trees against a backdrop of nothing but sand really communicates the feeling of a secret place hidden amongst the dunes.
