Although much of the southern Louisiana coastline is swamp, further north it's not so common. Located just northeast of Jackson MS, Cypress Swamp gives you a taste of the larger swamplands further south, aided by a half-mile circular path. The swamp here was formed when the Pearl River changed course, leaving a shallow water-filled area.
