About this spot
Corte and its Citadel are the bastion of the Corsican revolution for independence during the seventeenth century, led by Pasquale Paoli.
Among the citadels of Corsica, Corte is the only one situated within the grounds on a strengthened rocky piton overhung by an “eagle's nest”: a site classified as a Historic monument since 1977! The visit of the Museum and a walk around the Citadel Walls are a must see in your visit of Corte.
