About this spot
Chand Baori is a stepwell located in the village of Abhaneri in the Indian state of Rajasthan. This impressive structure was built in the 9th century AD and is considered one of the largest and deepest stepwells in India. The well is 30 meters deep and has 3,500 narrow steps leading down to the water at the bottom. The design of the well allowed it to serve as a source of water for the surrounding area and also as a gathering place for locals.

Chand Baori is known for its intricate geometric patterns and stunning architecture. The stepwell has been featured in many Bollywood movies and has become a popular tourist attraction in recent years. Visitors can explore the different levels of the well and admire the intricate carvings and sculptures that adorn the walls.
