About this spot
Badbury Rings is an iron age hill fort dating back to 500-600 BC. Being 100 metres above sea level the views across Dorset are stunning. Evidence has been found of Bronze age, Iron age and Roman occupation, walking round the three ramparts one can see why it was an important stronghold. There is also a concrete trig point on the north east embankment and a wood in the centre of the ramparts.
