About this spot
Lago di Devero, or Codelago, is a man-made lake in the Ossola Valley, in Piedmont. The name comes from the dialect and means "lake on the lake". The lake has a quite unusual shape and sits in a small subsidiary valley. The trek around the lake is quite epic, with gorgeous views over the deep blue waters and the rocky peaks. There are many creeks coming down from smaller and higher lake creating many beautiful waterfalls.
There are different routes that can be taken to get there but there is one that needs to be highlighted, it is called "Sentiero Italia" and it goes from Sardinia to Trieste hitting every region in Italy.

Keep in mind the this is a mountain environment, and it is highly suggested to be prepared. Bring waterproof and warm clothes, comfortable shoes and water (there is no drinking water until the top).
