World Peace Pagoda or Shanti stupa was built by a monk Morioka Sonin with local supporters under the guidance of Nichidatsu Fujii, a Buddhist monk. This stupa is situated at the height of 1100m. Nichidatsu Fujii laid the foundation stone with relics of Buddha on 12 September 1973.
