You really need a mini stool to get a decent shot of the draw off shute as the dam wall is quite high, my tripod was up quite high.

In the back of the fall is a brown stumpy looking thing, it's been there for a long time when you look at many of the photos for this location - my balance is not good enough to walk over the slippery rocks to check it out

We visited in mid week & term time in November 2022 & I'm guessing by the well trampled bank edges this is a popular tourist area & so this is best time to avoid people in the shot.

St Peter & St Paul Lavenham is one of the principal wool churches in common with many Suffolk towns/villages the area prospered through the vast wealth gained through wool. Lavenham is very pretty village with many half-timbered buildings & a Guildhall (National Trust).
