When we were visiting they had erected a beach in the center of town. Quite unexpected! Everyone was having a great time.

There is a beautiful botanic garden in town that was fun to shoot.

I was shooting in the morning as the sun was coming up and the sprinklers were going. It was very peaceful. It was the July and the gardens were in full flower.

It is hard to capture the experience of the sprinklers going in the morning, but they fill all the senses.

Alas I don't speak Swedish, but I thought this arch and the path through it and the garden to the compost heap was interesting.

While the formal parts of the garden are beautiful, so is the wilder mix of flowers, shrubs, and trees.

This is the front of Lund Cathedral, the seat of the Bishop of Lund. It is the main church of the Diocese of Lund of the Lutheran Church of Sweden. The main alter was consecrated in 1145. It is listed in the Swedish National Heritage Board, and there are several excellent ways to photograph the exterior.

The Cathedral is connected to a museum that includes a variety of religious artifacts, as well as elements from the construction happening on the Cathedral over the years. One example is this exhibit of censers.

Inside the Cathedral there is a clock that was installed in 1425. Twice a day two mechanical knights fight with swords, and then a procession of figures representing the three Kings parades by to the tune of In dulci jubilo. People gather fascinated by the spectacle. The astronomical clock has a perpetual calendar that spans 1923 to 2123.

The front of the Cathedral, as appropriate for the seat of the Bishop is very impressive. I wasn't able to capture it as well as some might.

Many of the exhibits in the museum were visually quite interesting. This natural history exhibit was one of those spaces.

There are lots of objects inside the museum worth closeup photographs. I personally liked this carved pillar that had been on a previous incarnation of parts of the Cathedral. It made me think of how I felt working for one of my past bosses.
