Rated as a 9 on a scale up to 10, Hermit Rapids is one of the bigger rapids in the Grand Canyon, and at certain flow levels, it can have the biggest waves in the canyon. It is particularly good for photographing whitewater rafting action as it is easy to access the shoreline for close-in riverside views.
