About this spot
Rua Augusta is a lively pedestrian street that connects the city’s two main squares—Praça do Comércio to Rossio. The street is charming with the traditional calçada portuguesa black and white mosaic pavement, outdoor cafés, shops, fashion retailers, restaurants, and street artists.

Located in the Baixa (bye-sha) neighborhood, you are surrounded with Neo-Classical buildings built after the 1755 Earthquake. The street is crowded during the day but quiets down at night. The crown jewel of the Rua Augusta is the Arco da Rua Augusta.
