About this spot
This neoclassical triumphal arch was built in 1929-1930 as a tribute to the victims of the Great War and designed by Bruges artist J. FONTEYNE (then director of the Bruges Municipal Academy). The grand arch was deemed to be an appropriate entrance to the Kartuizerinnenstraat
