About this spot
The Windsor Ruins are a group of large pillars, and all that remains of the imposing Windsor Mansion.
The mansion was built by slaves on a plantation between 1859 and 1861 for Smith Coffee Daniell II, however he died in 1861 just a few weeks after the building was completed. The building continued to be used until 1890 when a fire, started accidentally, destroyed the mansion - leaving only the columns you see today.
