About this spot
In the vicinity of Colorado City, lovely Water Canyon is well worth a visit if you’re looking for a secluded place (not during weekends). Nested inside the colorful Vermilion Cliffs, its short narrows offer refreshing surroundings with water-weeping cliffs, scattered greenery and tiny cascades.

From the trailhead, a short 30-minute walk leads to the beginning of the narrows. Along the way, look for an arch on top of the cliff to your right. The first part of the narrows is the most photogenic, but you can go on to an upper level following a slanted ledge to the left.

The narrows eventually open up in a slickrock area reminiscent of the Zion Plateau. A steep footpath continues toward Canaan Mountain and the beautiful White Domes (refer to the White Somes spot).
