About this spot
Villa de Vecchi was, apparently, built as a summer / retirement home for Mussolini. In the end, he never actually visited, and the building was abandoned many years ago. As well as the house, there's a small chapel just to the west, which is also worth a quick look.
Now, in a state of disrepair, it makes for an interesting stop-off if you're crossing the island.
The building is for sale by the Greek government in an attempt to raise much needed money, so in the future this may get renovated into a luxury hotel or similar- visit while you can!
