The Lower Mangart Lake (Lago di Fusine in Italian or Belopeško jezero in Slovenian) is located at the north of Mt Mangart (in Slovenia) in the Julian Alps area. The surrounding forest and the mountain view are spectacular and great subject for landscape photography at any season. The sun will hit the mountain only in the summer season so in winter you will need some colourful clouds in order to make interesting subject. Fall colours here are spectacular and usually come earlier than the rest of the region - this is one of the coldest parts of the region. In winter, the lake regularly freezes - but there are always some small part not frozen for a nice reflection.
