About this spot
There’s a good chance that many people reading this guide will be staying at Hosteria Pehoe and if so you’ll be familiar with the island within a day. If not, go explore it during the daytime when the light isn’t really worth shooting.

The lookout shot with the island and hotel in the frame is an iconic travel shot and probably one of the most iconic scenes in Chile. Be careful not to include the hotel’s massive gas storage tank in the parking lot. This shot will work best on days with no wind as the island will look like it’s floating in the reflection of Paine Grande.

The rock shelves are fantastic with reflections on the lake or with choppy waters from the wind. The main concern is wind coming from a Northern direction, which will make it near impossible to shoot.
