About this spot
This lighthouse is officially called the ‘Ship Canal North Pierhead Lighthouse’. It may also be listed as 'Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal Pierhead' or 'Canal North Pierhead Light' on some maps and GPS. It's situated on the North pier of the southern entrance to the Sturgeon Bay Ship Canal on Lake Michigan.

This automated lighthouse helps guide ships in from Lake Michigan to the canal that runs across the Door County Peninsula and through the town of Sturgeon Bay, WI.
