About this spot
The St. Servaasbrug is a historic bridge located in the city of Maastricht in the southern part of the Netherlands. It is the oldest bridge in the Netherlands that is still in use and has been an important landmark in the city for over 800 years.

The bridge spans the River Maas and connects the city center with the district of Wyck. It is named after St. Servatius, a bishop who lived in the city in the fourth century and is regarded as the patron saint of Maastricht.

The St. Servaasbrug was originally built in the 13th century, although it has undergone several renovations and restorations over the years. It is a stone bridge that is approximately 160 meters long and consists of seven arches, with the middle arch being the largest.

One of the unique features of the St. Servaasbrug is the presence of several small chapels along the bridge. These chapels were added in the 17th century and were used for religious processions and ceremonies.

Today, the St. Servaasbrug is a popular tourist attraction and a symbol of Maastricht's rich history and cultural heritage. It offers stunning views of the River Maas and the city skyline, and is a popular spot for photography and sightseeing.
