About this spot
St. George the Victorious Monastery is located on the outskirts of Debar, near the river Radika. It was founded in the 14th century and rebuilt in the 19th century in the traditional Macedonian architectural style. The monastery has a beautiful iconostasis, frescoes, and a collection of icons and other religious artifacts.
The monastery is run by nuns who also operate the orphanage.
