About this spot
Big Bend National Park is a vast wilderness area in SW Texas along the border with Mexico. It is known for its stunning desert landscapes, canyons, and towering mountains. The park encompasses over 800,000 acres of protected land and offers photographers opportunities for landscape photography, astro photography, and wildlife shots. There are over 1,200 species of plants, 450 species of birds, and 75 species of mammals inhabiting the area. Sotol Vista, the western side of the park sprawls before you. Santa Elena Canyon appears as a small gap in the distant mesa.
