San Francisco de Asís Mission Church is located on the the main plaza of Ranchos de Taos. This historic church was built between 1772 and 1816 when New Mexico was part of colonial Spain. Architecturally,It is considered as one of the best examples of a Spanish mission church. The church is a National Historic Landmark. Ansel Adams photographed and Georgia O'Keeffe painted the church. San Francisco de Asís Church is located along the High Road to Taos.
