About this spot
A very old street that was already known as the Blaer strate in the 14th century and that ran from the Zavel to the Crekelendries at the end of the Wolstraat, through the so-called Bavendal or 't Bovendael. This neighborhood, located on the slope between Hoogstraat and Wolstraat, was traditionally known as a refuge for criminals and prostitutes.
Nowadays it is mainly a very pleasant street in the heart of the Marolles, overlooking the Law Courts in the distance.
