About this spot
The medieval town of Terrasson Lavilledieu (the city of God) is situated in a fairytale-like setting on the river Vézère on the border of the Périgord Noir and the Corrèze.
Terrasson was founded as a Gallo-Romanesque town at the end of the 6th century with the construction of the first Benedictine abbey. Walking through the old town you will discover beautiful houses from the twelfth century and the Renaissance along the hills. Today, Terrasson with its 6,500 inhabitants is one of the most important towns in the region.
