About this spot
Located on a high mountain plateau (part of Pohorje massif), Ribniško jezero is a true mountain paradise. The "lake" is actually a high mountain bog, created about 8000 years ago. It is fed by rain water only and there is no stream going out. Because of its boggy terrain it is very shallow, up to one meter deep.
