About this spot
The Braun & Blanchard Dock, also known as the Puerto Natales Historic Dock, was constructed by the eponymous company, which was one of the most significant economic entities in the region in the early 1900s. During the height of the sheep and cattle industry boom, this dock served as a means to transport various agricultural products.

However, in the 1920s, a workers' revolt seeking better working conditions resulted in the destruction of the Braun & Blanchard facilities, including the warehouses and the renowned pier. Though the warehouses and pier were rebuilt, they only remained operational for a few more years before the decline of large-scale exploitation. Today, only the pillars of the former pier endure, symbolizing the heyday of cattle transportation.
