Shoot with care
Although the village looks rather run-down and abandoned, people do live here. Take care to not wander into people's yards, or photograph through windows.
About this spot
Pozo de Las Calcosas is a small village in the north of El Hierro. This small cluster of homes hosts a natural pool for swimming, and is perched atop an impressive lava flow. The homes themselves are constructed in a traditional style, using volcanic rock and thatched flat roofs, and were originally used by fishermen.
The village is reached by a steep cliffside path that's a combination of steps and steep cobbled slope.
