A walled 8.87-hectare public square in the historic centre of Pisa, considered one of the finest architectural complexes in the world. The site is notable for four great religious edifices: the Pisa Cathedral, the Pisa Baptistry, the Campanile (the world famous Leaning Tower of Pisa), and the Camposanto Monumentale (Monumental Cemetery).
In 1987, the whole square was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
