About this spot
Old Market is adjacent to the Omaha railroad yards. From the late 19th century until the 1950's it was a major shipping center for produce. In the 1950's changes in the grocery industry and agricultural areas of the United States moved the produce businesses elsewhere. Most of the traditional businesses and warehouses in Old Market ceased operations. In the 1963's the area began to be revitalized as an arts and entertainment area. Today it is a vibrant community with many opportunities for urban photography.
