It is a beautiful spot in the Black Hills that is easy to find with a visitor center. The giant statues of presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln were carved into stone over a period of 14 years from 1927 to 1941 by sculptor Gutzon Borglum.
