About this spot
Lotrščak Tower is a historic fortified tower located in Zagreb, Croatia's capital. The tower was constructed in the 13th century as part of the city's defenses against the Mongol invasions, and it stands in the old part of the city known as Gradec or Gornji Grad (Upper Town). The tower is now a distinctive symbol of Zagreb and offers breathtaking views of the city from its top. Its most notable feature is a cannon which fires every day at noon, a tradition dating back to the 19th century to signal the midday hour to the city's churches. The tower is situated close to the funicular and is easily accessible to visitors who wish to explore Zagreb's rich history.
