About this spot
The jetty stumps at Lake Wanaka are the remains of a jetty that was built in the early 1900s and used to load and unload cargo from steamboats that traveled on the lake. The stumps are all that remain today and are now a popular spot for photographers, as they provide a picturesque setting with the lake and mountains in the background.
