About this spot
The Lake of the Angels is accessed by a very difficult trail which starts out in Olympic National Forest, crosses into Mount Skokomish Wilderness and ends in Olympic National Park. The lake is an alpine beauty, considered by many to be the most charming in the park. It lies in a basin surrounded by high peaks and lush meadows. Numerous mountain goats and marmots live in the rich environment around the lake. The entire hike is only 3.6 miles each way with a 3750 ft elevation gain, making it one of the most difficult in the park.

The final head-wall is more of a scramble than a walk. Above the head-wall the ground is damp and trails meander off in different directions. Keep the heading to the west and north to reach the lake.
