About this spot
Kiyotsu Gorge is located within the Joshinetsu Kogen National Park and unlike many other natural landmarks this location has a permanent art exhibit made within an old manmade tunnel. This tunnel is a historic 750 m passageway that cuts through the distinctive columnar rock formations that gives panoramic views of the gorge. Within this tunnel you can see a few different art pieces through that have been made with the gorge in mind. At the end of the tunnel is the Light Cave where it looks like you’re walking on water to get to the end viewpoint. This is one of Japan's top 3 gorges.
