About this spot
Consisting of an old and a new part, the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church is often described as ‘the heart of West Berlin’. The old church was badly damaged during WWII but the tower was preserved.
The new church was designed by Eiermann and consists of four buildings grouped around the remaining ruins of the old church. Most interesting for photographers is the octagonal church with the altar.
