About this spot
This is a round walk but it will cost if completed in this way (approx £6 for an adult, £3 for U16s). The trail usually opens at 9am but closing times vary throughout the year so check the official website before you go. The walk itself is a circular walk, up the river Twiss and back down the river Doe about 4-5 miles in total - but it is possible to explore these rivers individually by accessing them from beneath Twistleton scar, the benefit of which is to bypass the limits on opening times and cost but it does mean retracing your steps back up each gorge (see alternative parking). It's clear the cost of entry gets spent wisely, having seen the improvements to the paths over the years, but the opening times can sometimes be difficult.
The walk itself is absolutely beautiful but can often get quite muddy - the dramatic gorges and numerous waterfalls make this a spot not to be missed.
