About this spot
Ile de la Pietra is a must see when visiting Ile Rousse. It is not a real Island, since it is joined to the town by a thin strip of land. On the Island there a lighthouse and a Genoese watch tower, still in an acceptable condition.
From here you can also get great views over the two small offshore islands. It is the color of the rock that gives Ile Rousse its name. At sunset, particularly the rock is a rich red color. If you don't like walking, you can ride on the 'Petit Train' a little tourist 'train' which drives around the main sights of the town.
It is considered an iconic view, along with the lighthouse of the Pietra Island where it is based and the city of Ile Rousse.
