About this spot
The Hopperstad Stave Church in Vik was originally built around 1130, but much of it has been replaced over time. After the church fell into disrepair, and in the 1880s, the architect Peter Blix restored it blending in styles from other stave churches, mostly the Borgund church, with the remains of the original church.
