About this spot
Granite Falls and the fish ladder is now the town of Granite Falls, Washington. There are many picturesque trails in the area. The Falls and fish ladder itself, however, provide a wonderful variety of photo opportunities, and the gorge through which the water flows changes radically from one season to the next. The Falls have a fish ladder on one side, and the gorge is the kind of place where the water must thunder through during the spring melt from the Cascades. On the other side of the stream, there are large granite cliffs, and at the foot of the falls are huge boulders worn smooth by the water churning the rocks around. It is like a giant rock tumbler.
