It is a bridge that crosses the Seine between the Quai des Tuileries (Place de la Concorde) and the Quai d'Orsay. During its history, it bore the names of "Pont Louis-XVI", "Pont de la Révolution", "Pont de la Concorde", again "Pont Louis-XVI" during the Restoration (1814), and definitively " Pont de la Concorde ”since 1830. It has been listed as a historic monument since June 12, 1975.
Ensuring construction in the midst of revolutionary turmoil, he used cut stone for the masonry from the demolition of the Bastille, stormed on July 14, 1789, "so that the people could continually trample on the ancient fortress".
Construction will be completed in 1791 and the bridge will take the name of King Louis XVI, then, from 1792 to 1795, "Pont de la Révolution", "Pont de la Concorde" until 1814, again "Pont Louis XVI" then definitively "Pont de la Concorde" since 1830.
