About this spot
The north side of Dunstanburgh Castle is dominated by the wedge-shaped Greymare Rock with the Lilburn Tower at its peak. At the foot of the cliff, stretching round into nearby Embleton Bay is a vast field of round, weathered boulders, known locally as the ‘cannonball’ boulders due to their shape.
