About this spot
Dorothea quarry is a large slate quarry in the Nantlle Valley in North Wales.
The quarry is popular with locals for wild swimming, although now the lake has been closed off due to a number of deaths.

Scattered around the quarry lake is a labyrinth of ruins with rusted old chains, machinery and buildings in crumble. As you explore around the maze its evident that nature has reclaimed the scarred land which makes the place a photographers haven!
