The charioteer of Delphi, 480-470 BC. Found at Delphi, it is thought to have been a votive offering brought there by Polygalus of Gera from southern Sicily to commemorate a victory in the chariot races of 476 BC. The figure still has many archaic elements in its production, so it cannot be said that it belongs to the Severe Period, but when the head is made, the evolution is evident, because of how real it is, even in bronze. The ethos, the character of the figure, is very well achieved.

The Archaic Kouroi, Cleobis and Bithon, by Polymedes of Argos, 570-560 BC. These are mythical twins, brothers from Argos, who according to legend joined the chariot of their mother, a priestess of Hera, instead of the oxen, to take her to where the goddess's feast was being celebrated. An incomplete inscription attributes them to a... Medes of Argos, in whom the Argos sculptor Polymedes is recognised.
